TK Printing in Brooklyn, NY recently purchased two Rollem machines. The machines included an 18" Auto 4 CPS, and a 30" Champion ETR, scoring, slitting, perforating system. Copy Factory in Palo Alto, CA received an 18" Champion 990. Advanced Image Direct in Fullerton, CA received a 30th double head Rollaway for two directional capabilities.

C-Point Marketing, Ft. Wayne, Indiana   C-Point Marketing, based in Ft. Wayne, Indiana recently expanded their VDP printing capability and addressed their finishing and mailing capabilities. The key requirements of the finishing system is the ability to maintain mail integrity and produce L-perf reply cards for the millions of direct mail products they produce. Larry Lengacher, V.P. General Manager of C-Point Marketing found the ideal solution in the Rollem TR Die-Score system. "Rollem built us the entire system and what a great resource it has been", states Lengacher. Marc Thomsen, Rollem's V.P. configured a production line including the TR Die-Score System with a right angle Rollaway unit running in-line with a folder, slitting and gluing unit. Products from the press are sent to the Rollem Preload unit (in mail sort order) for feeding into the TR which removes trim, slits, scores, perforates and L-perfs in one pass—then the pieces are folded, spot glued all in one operation, delivering the product in mail sort order. "The key for us is the ability to maintain the mail integrity in the finishing process", states Lengacher. "Coming off of the Rollem line in mail sort order eliminates individual processes that may leave room for error. The ability to take our press sheet, apply five different finishing processes in one step, and deliver it directly to the mail tray (including dual mail sortation) is key. If I didn't have the Rollem system we would have to take the products from the press, move it to a perforating and scoring unit, take it to a cutter, then a folder and run it through a gluer or tabbing machine", he states. Performing multiple processes in one machine eliminates additional labor costs, improves production and increases profits.

Standard Register of Radcliff, Kentucky recently installed a 30” Rollem ETR system with a 30” feeder and stacker. Caterpillar of Peoria, Illinois received installation and training on a PB-09 jogging, drilling and delivery system. Express Bindery of Buena Park, California added a 42” TR Die Scoring System to their bindery. Master Mailers in Las Vegas, Nevada installed a 24” Doublehead Rollaway right angle unit. Sky Graphics Printing Inc. in South El Monte, California received a 28”Champion 990 Scoring and Perforating system.

Vista Print North America received their fifth Rollem scoring and slitting machine. Solution 3 Graphics in Chicago, IL received two 30" double head ETR’s and a 30" double head pile feeder. Name Plates for Industries in New Bedford, MA is an In-plant printer specializing in all types of label products. They recently installed a new Rollem Champion Semi-Slitting unit to update their label slitting capabilities. Freedom Mailing Services of Orem, UT recently installed an 18 Champion 990 perforating and scoring system.

Ultragraphics in Lancaster, PA recently installed a new Rollem TR System Ultragraphics, Lancaster, PA When we talked to our customers about producing high-volume runs on a digital press, the concept was to feed press sheets in one end of a system and produce finished product on the other to achieve maximum efficiency. With the purchase of the Rollem TR Die-Score System, and by utilizing our existing folding equipment, that concept became reality. The TR has met and exceeded all production speed and quality requirements. We run our digital presses three shifts a day, but the Rollem TR can easily finish the work in less than one shift. One of the real surprises to us is that we are running more and more of our short-run work on our TR. As our employees get more comfortable with the equipment, the production speed, quality and ability to perform multiple processes in-line more than justifies the set-up time. Steven D. Ventura Printing of Oxnard, CA recently installed a 36 TR Double Head with Strike perforation capabilities along with a 36 DM Air Feeder. BFC of Batavia, IL recently installed a 24 Rollaway Single Head scoring, perforating, and slitting system with one of their existing Rollem TR systems.

The Seidl Bindery of Houston, TX recently installed a PB-15 drilling system. Bill Seidl (of Seidl's Bindery) pictured with Barry Kallman. The PB-16 is a fully automated feeding, jogging, drilling and delivery system for all type of drilled and collated products.

Video Viewing of Mabelvale, AR recently installed a 24 Advantage scoring and perforating system. CTB of Indianapolis, IN recently installed an 18 Champion 990 perforating and scoring system.

Chromatic Lithographers, Glendale Ca. purchased and installed a Rollem 42” TR System. Scott Stegman, Bindery Forman, and Operators, Augustine Escobar and Alfredo Ochoa are being schooled on the TR by Rollem Technician, James Cruz. Scott relates "that being a very busy Commercial Shop, turn-around time on our jobs is very critical. Even though we have close access to a Trade Die Shop, we felt it was important to keep our jobs in-house for better control and faster production without giving up quality. The TR affords us that opportunity and in fact it exceeds our expectations the more we use it."

Custom Printing of Baltimore, MD recently installed a 24 Champion 990 perforating and scoring system along with a 24 DM Feeder G2 West Print of Hollywood, CA recently installed a 24" Champion 990 scoring, perforating and slitting system.

Clear Image Printing in Glendale, Ca. recently installed a 36” Rollem TR System. Pictured are Tony Toven, owner and Anna Maldonado, Operator. When asked why he chose the TR Tony, said “we are a new Print Shop and I wanted to make sure that I invested in the proper equipment as I got started. I asked a lot of people in the know and it always came back to, buy a TR. It will do more for your finishing requirements than any other machine in your bindery. We have a small folder and will add a dedicated 8 Page Rollaway only to the TR and and this will preclude the need for a large folder. On our larger format sheets, we can now Score, Slit and Perforate all In-Line.”

Jorge states “with the closing of our Letter Press Department we wanted to make sure that we investigated and purchased the right equipment to fill this void. Being a Trade Bindery, we never know what our customers will send us so when we got a call and were asked, do you have a Rollem TR that cemented our decision. We installed the TR and are impressed with its versatility, quality and production."

Emerald City Graphics, in Kent Washington, recently installed a Rollem-Duerselen PB-15 In-Line Drilling System. "Jim states that since it was installed, we have enjoyed up to a 30% increase in production using this Revolutionary System. Because it is capable of doing 2-1, 3-1 and 4-1applicaions with the ability to drill up to 2 Inch Piles at a time as compared to a Punch, our overall productivity is way up. Further, because piles are Automatically Jogged and moved to the Drilling Heads, we are able to drill pre-collated books with Tabs so there is no need to use Slip-Sheets and re-collate. Cooling and Lubricating as well as Stroke and Spindle Speed Control allow us to do flawless drilling jobs faster than ever."

S. I. Jacobson Mfg Co. of Waukegan, IL recently installed a 30" Champion 990 scoring, perforating and slitting system. Rogers Printing Inc. of Ravanna, MI recently installed a PB-16 drilling system.

Ross Bindery, located in Santa Fe Springs, CA and the new Rollem Continuous Feed TR Die-Scoring System. George Jackson, President of Ross Bindery, located in Santa Fe Springs, CA and Barry Kallman, V.P. Sales for Rollem International, discuss the merits of the new Rollem Continuous Feed TR Die-Scoring System. "Our production has more than doubled and we are most pleased with Rollem's new entry into the finishing market. Scoring, perforating and slitting capabilities are expanded further with the addition of the new Continuous Feeder, enabling the uninterrupted feeding with no pile run out, ideal for large, high volume runs." George states, "because of the TR's versatility, we recently used it to slit and fold all in-line because our cutters were all tied up. It seems the more we use it, the more uses we find for it."

FX Digital Media Inc. of Cleveland, OH recently installed a 24" ETR scoring, perforating and slitting system along with a 24" Deep Pile Feeder. They will be scoring on digitally printed materials. Reflections Press of Woods Cross UT recently installed a 24" Advantage Double Head scoring, perforating and slitting system. They will be processing both offset and digital work

Brown's Bindery, Columbia, SC, purchased the PB-15 automatic feeding, jogging, drilling and delivery system Ronnie and Paul Brown of Brown's Bindery (Columbia, SC) purchased the PB-15 automatic feeding, jogging, drilling and delivery system after seeing a trade show demonstration. They saw it at a Graph Expo last year and it blew them away! "It's three times faster than our old drills, which weren't computerized. I can adjust this machine on the fly and the set-up time is incredibly fast", William Burritt, bindery supervisor states. Brown's specializes in perfect and mechanical binding as well as folding. "We do just about everything except die-cutting," explains Burritt. He adds that the bindery is probably in the midrange when it comes to drilling, "but when it rains it pours. We've seen everything from 10,000 books per week to 200,000." Burritt says the PB-15 is enabling the bindery to do work it couldn't previously handle such as a 28-hole book. "With this drill, it only took me a few minutes to set up the machine. With four heads, I hit it seven times and knocked out 1,000 books in 15 to 20 minutes. That probably would have taken more than an hour with the old drill. Overall, our drilling time has been cut in half with this new drill."

State Printing of Columbia, SC recently installed a PB-01 drilling system. Graphics 2 of Ft. Worth, TX recently installed a 30" ETR scoring, perforating and slitting system along with a 30" Deep Pile Feeder.

Dennis Bolton Enterprises of North Hollywood, CA recently installed a 24" Advantage Double Head scoring, perforating and slitting system. Hartford Hospital of Hartford, CT is an in-plant shop that recently installed an 18" Champion 990 scoring, perforating and slitting system to replace their 30 year old Champion 990 Litho Express of St. Paul, MN recently in installed a 18" Champion 990 scoring, perforating and slitting system.

Semco of Milwaukee, WI Semco recently installed a 24" Champion Double Head scoring, perforating and slitting system with a 24" Stacker Feeder. Master Press of Seattle, WA Master Press of Seattle, WA recently installed a 30" Semi-Slitting system. Fiborlok of Ft. Collins, CO Fiborlok recently installed a 36" Champion 990 Double Head scoring and perforating system.

Clear Copy Inc. of Boynton Beach, FL Clear Copy Inc recently installed a 24" ETR scoring and perforating system with a 24" DM Econo Feeder. Ziptek of Denver, CO Ziptek recently installed a 30" TR Double Head scoring, perforating and slitting system along with an Airfeed system and a 24" Rollaway Double Head for bi-directional scoring and perforating.

Cactus Binderies of Phoenix, AZ Cactus Binderies recently installed a 36" TR Double Head scoring, perforating and slitting system along with a 36" DM Continuous Feeder and a 30" Rollaway Double Head scoring and perforating system. Tabs Plus of Auburn, WA Tabs Plus recently installed a PB16 Drilling system.

Prisma Graphic Corporation - Phoenix, Arizona Prisma Graphic, a commercial printer recently installed its second TR Die-Score system. Tony D., Production Manager for Prisma Graphic states, "the need for the second TR system became necessary because of the high volume on our existing 36" TR system. Its versatility and flexibility handle 98% of our finishing jobs." Digital Color World - Sun Valley, California Digital Color World recently traded its 30" TR Die-Score systems for an upgraded, computerized 42" TR Die-Score system with the Right Angle to handle the firms two-directional CD inlay work. Regal Printers Installs Rollem TR Die-Score System Regal printers, located in Forked River, NJ, recently installed a new Rollem TR Die-Scoring system with a Rollaway Right Angle. "We use our Rollem TR for scoring, perforating and two-directional stop-perforating with the Rollaway unit. It handles every type of stock and always gives us good quality finished products. We are very pleased with its versatile-scoring, perforating, slitting and two-directional work." States Jeff LeCompte of Regal Printers.
