Rollaway Slitting, Scoring, Perforating & Semi-Slitting System

Rollaway Slitting, Scoring, Perforating & Semi-Slitting System

The Rollaway Slitter is a single direction modular unit for slitting, scoring, perforating, strike-perforating and micro-perforating functions. Two Rollaways combined create the Jetstream model.

The Rollaway delivers high quality automated finishing, surpassing press score quality with a two-stage process that lays a second deeper score over the first score. You can eliminate cracking and achieve a sharper crease even on difficult stocks with Rollem’s two-stage scoring process.

Add the Rollaway to the TR System, the ETR, Advantage, or Champion 990 System to create a bi-directional (four-sided) finishing system.

The Jetstream System is comprised of two Rollaway units configured in a 45 degree or right angle configuration for bi-directional processing.

Our Rollem finishing equipment gives us the flexibility to offer a wide variety of finishing services that not only meet, but exceed our high standards, so our customers can get the most out of every direct mail campaign.

Mailstream Testimonial

Plastikoil of Pennsylvania, a full-service bindery located in southwest Pennsylvania, recently installed a Rollem Mailstream System. The investment was made to open up markets in the growing mailing and fulfillment portions of the industry, as well as to be able to offer new services to existing customers.

The system not only allows Plastikoil to combine traditional finishing processes such as slitting, scoring, perforating, strike-perforating, hot-melt, cold and re-moist gluing, as well as buckle and plow folding, but also provides Plastikoil with the ability to offer highly specialized services such as “horseshoe” pattern re-moist glue and multiple card tipping capabilities, to turn an ordinary mail piece into something extraordinary.

The flexibility and the modular approach were both important factors for Plastikoil. “An added benefit to installing the Rollem was that it allowed us to incorporate our existing equipment, such as UV coaters and ink-jetting systems, to run in-line with the Rollem equipment, which saves time and labor,” said Matt Barkley, president of Plastikoil of Pennsylvania.

From day one, we started to use the
Rollem Jetstream and basically we’ve used it every day since. We had a job of 5,000,000 postcards that were due in one week when we received installation of the Jetstream system … We had the job done and out the door in less than a week. We use the Jetstream all the time and I know I can count on our system to get the job done fast and accurately. The ability to handle the perforating, scoring and edge trimming in one step, makes the Jetstream one of the key machines in my finishing department.
